This course will teach you how to skipper confidently and safely. It is designed for people with little or no experience in skippering Keelboats, or those who have been crewing for others.

Description:

The 4 session, 10 hour course combines   short theoretical sessions   with hands-on experience sailing on   beautiful Lake Calhoun. The McGregor 26 named “The Excessive”, is nimble and responsive, yet stable and safe.  It encourages  you  to  experiment  and will immediately reward  your efforts, and will importantly, forgive the inevitable beginner’s mistake.  The Instructor patiently guides you  through  an exciting learning adventure.

• Rigging, Hoisting and Trimming Sails      
• Tacking and Jibing
• Basic Navigation Rules
• Departures and Docking
• Overboard Maneuvers
• Knots

• Four sessions of 4 x 2.5 Hours
• Extended time on the water
• Keelboat used: McGregor 26'
• Classes Max 3 persons
